Robert Trent Jones, Sr. designed a golf course for a group of investors and, in 1959, the golf course at Timberlane Country Club opened. It was the first private club west of the Mississippi River. Since then, Timberlane Golf & Recreation has been ranked as one of the most difficult courses in the country.

The club has bore witness to the oil boom of the 1980’s, the Internet bubble of the 1990’s and, more recently, the events of Hurricane Katrina in 2005. The oaks planted back in 1959 are now very large and, while some are gone, many club members remain and continue to enjoy the amenities the club has to offer. Why not make Timberlane your home for New Orleans golf?

Located just minutes from downtown New Orleans, Timberlane Golf & Recreation has offered unmatched golf, a wonderful family atmosphere and traditional amenities to our members and guests for more than 50 years.
