Riverlands was established in 1961, but underwent a makeover in 1998 and 1999 with the additional of a computer-operated irrigation system and reconstructed greens (they were expanded with a total of 30 percent more putting surface, added subsurface drainage and planted with TifEagle ultradwarf Bermuda grass).
The course boasts a melange of Majestic Oaks, pines and maple trees, and 10 freshwater tidal ponds on a rectangle of 126 acres. The Riverlands Maintenance Crew is regularly making improvements to an already-scenic course.
